Depicted is a finite element model we helped develop in support of a customer working on the installation of a novel design for a system that retracts and deploys a FLIR system.
In this particular case a low natural frequency problem was discovered with the original design. Our work enabled a simple redesign of the mounting structure which eliminated design risks before the first parts where made and installed.

In this particular design case, deflections, stressing, durability and damage tolerance criteria where analyzed using methods that meet FAA acceptance criteria.
